4:16 PM

When: 24th of May, 2016

What: Ordinary Council Meeting
Where: 34 Civic Drive, Greensborough VIC 3088

! PLEASE BE IN ATTENDANCE AT THIS COUNCIL MEETING !

This meeting will prove to be an opportunity for the community to display to an independent planning panel just how many residents DO NOT SUPPORT C101.

The facts and what will be spoken about at this meeting:

On the 13th of April 2016 during the Special Policy and Services Committee meeting, the Nillumbik Shire Councilors served a motion that the council;

"Abandons Amendment C101 in its entirety." [1]

The Councilors vote 5-2 and the motion was CARRIED.

FYI:
For: Crs King, Coleman, Klein, Perkins and Young.
Against: Crs Van Hulsen and Hattam.

This would seemingly be good news for the Nillumbik PALs however it was too good to be true when the motion was later reversed at the Ordinary Council meeting on the 26th of April 2016. A behavior that appears to be lacking moral authority.

"A motion to rescind that decision has now been made and Amendment C101 will be listed for the May Ordinary Council Meeting again." [2]

states the Nillumbik Shire Council.

Confused?! Yes, we are confused as to why the Council cannot stand by and consistently support the community's outrage against C101 also!

It seems as though this decision to reverse their original abandonment of C101 was influenced by legal advise sought out by the Council.

Yes, you're reading this correctly. The council listened to our requests to abandon C101, agreed to abandon C101 and then sought out legal advise to support the reversal of such abandonment

Talk about doing whatever council wants and not listening to the Nillumbik Shire Residents!

It should be noted that according to the minutes presented from the Ordinary Council meeting on the 26th of April 2016, Councilors Klein and King wished to pass a motion that council:

  1. Notes the submissions and presentations to the Special Policy and Services Committee on 13 April 2016.
  2. Having considered submissions, resolves to abandon Amendment C101 in its entirety.
  3. Writes to the Minister for Planning to advise of its abandonment of Amendment C101

Unfortunately this motion was LOST.

On the 24th of May and independent planning panel will ultimately be reviewing this series of events and will decide whether or not the council was authorised to reverse their original motion to ABANDON C101 ENTIRELY.

PLEASE JOIN NILLUMBIK PALS IN SUPPORTING THE ABANDONMENT OF C101
